🔧 About the Role:
A&T Human Resources is currently hiring an experienced and detail-oriented CNC / Router Operator for a well-established manufacturing and distribution facility in Scarborough.
The successful candidate will operate CNC machinery and routers to cut and convert plastic materials according to customer specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and production requirements. This position also involves general warehouse duties, material handling, inventory control, and forklift operation.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines and routers according to work orders, drawings, and supplied programs
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, measurements, and production specifications
- Select and safely install the correct cutting bits, tools, and machine components
- Establish appropriate cutting parameters to maintain accuracy and product quality
- Monitor machinery during operation and make adjustments when necessary
- Measure completed materials using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices
- Inspect finished products to ensure correct dimensions, shape, and quality
- Identify and report production, material, equipment, or quality-related issues
- Perform daily machinery inspections and confirm equipment is functioning properly
- Complete preventative and routine maintenance according to work instructions
- Remove finished materials from machinery and maintain accurate production counts
- Enter production records, material information, and inventory details into the computer system
- Retrieve materials from storage and return remaining materials to the correct locations
- Operate secondary equipment such as saws, routers, panel saws, and other CNC machinery
📦 General Warehouse Duties:
- Package finished products using proper packaging and product-protection methods
- Apply barcode labels and store materials in the correct bin locations
- Operate a forklift to transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials safely
- Assist with company inventory counts
- Maintain accurate material and inventory records
- Keep the production and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all quality-control procedures and warehouse safety requirements
✅ Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum six months of related CNC, router, machining, or manufacturing experience
- College or technical school certificate is considered an asset
- Experience operating CNC routers, CNC panel saws, or similar machinery
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work orders, and technical instructions
- Ability to accurately use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Strong mathematical skills, including decimals, fractions, ratios, percentages, and measurements
- Basic computer skills for production records, material tracking, and inventory control
- Valid forklift licence is required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently
- Ability to communicate production or equipment concerns clearly
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs

- Follow all occupational health and safety legislation and workplace procedures
- Maintain equipment in safe working condition
- Immediately report unsafe equipment, hazards, or workplace conditions
- Attend required safety training, including WHMIS training
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Use proper lifting techniques and body mechanics
- Follow company safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area
💪 Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and operate machinery for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach as required
- Ability to safely operate CNC machinery and a forklift
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment
- Ability to work in an environment that may contain dust, airborne particles, and moderate noise
- Ability to wear hearing protection and other required protective equipment
