About Jewellery & Industrial Metals

A wealth of applications. Our client is an expert in developing products and processes based on precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. These materials enable our customers to make fine jewellery, coins, high-purity glass, and industrial catalysts. Our client also enables the sustainable and responsible sourcing of these metals and provides closed-loop recycling for their customers. To make the most of these materials, they cannot stand still. They need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions, and develop new processes. Which is where you come in.

What you will be doing

  • Weighing and processing of orders ready to be shipped in the SAP System.
  • Visual inspection of all outgoing customer products (colour, karat, number of pieces, size, tolerance, and actual finish). Metrology equipment used.
  • Preparation of shipping documents for courier shipments (FedEx, Brinks, etc.).
  • Schedule pick-ups with various trucking companies for customer specifics through security or front office.
  • Packaging of all precious metal products for shipping.
  • Preparation and shipping of various tools and assay samples for other departments.
  • Maintain consumable inventory and inform the supervisor if any required.
  • Prepare and separate shipments for the Rhode Island office.
  • Receive all precious metal customer returns and inform appropriate department supervisors or technical department staff.
  • Organize finished product carts to maximize the effectiveness of material flow.
  • Daily communication for credit release with sales and finance departments.
  • Receive orders relating to the ready stock program.
  • Maintain current all computer data to provide continuous inventory control in the Ready Stock.
  • Ensure replacement orders for Ready Stock are quickly processed to the manufacturing group for production.
  • Carry out all necessary cutting, counting, straightening, and other manipulations to the Ready Stock inventory items so that orders are fulfilled as entered.
  • Perform a physical inventory count at whatever times as required.
  • Maintain area in a clean, tidy, and functional state at all times as per standards.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety and environmental rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for

  • The position requires a minimum of two years’ experience in a shipping environment.
  • Minimum of grade 12.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.
  • Pay rate: $19 per hour.
