Position: Tool and Die Maker (Part-Time)
Location: Victoria Park and McNicoll Ave
Pay Rate: $35 – $40 per hour
Schedule: Flexible shifts available (Morning, Afternoon, Night)
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (Additional hours may be specified if required)
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and repairing tools and dies used in the production of automotive and residential parts, such as air filters. This role is perfect for a professional who is looking for a flexible work schedule and who thrives in a hands-on, technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair tools and dies based on provided drawings.
- Work with unique, older machinery (older lathes and milling ~ NO CNC) to produce spare parts.
- Ensure precision and quality in the manufacturing of automotive and residential components.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to understand and fulfill part requirements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Ontario and inter-provincial (430A) Certificate of Tool and Die Maker.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a Tool and Die Maker with a strong background in manual machine operations (non-CNC).
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Work Environment
- Machinery: The work involves operating unique, older machines that require a high level of manual skill.
- Flexibility: The position offers flexible shift options, accommodating morning, afternoon, or night schedules based on the candidate’s preference.
- Team Collaboration: You will work closely with maintenance staff to ensure the accurate production of necessary parts.
Additional Information
- This position is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week unless otherwise specified.

- Working knowledge of the English language (both written and spoken)
- Knowledge of equipment and machines in department e.g. various mills, lathe, various hand tools, crane, measurement tools etc.
- Position requires a high degree of accuracy working with a variety of technical equipment.
- Able to read and interpret engineer drawings.
