Occupational Therapist
Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, On-site
Salary Range: $100,000 to $110,000
Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Brampton. In this role, you will develop individual and group programs for people affected by illness, injury, developmental disorders, emotional or psychological problems, and aging. Your goal will be to help clients maintain, restore, or increase their ability to care for themselves and engage in work, school, or leisure activities. Additionally, you will develop and implement health promotion programs with individuals, community groups, and employers.
Work Week Duration:
Between 35 to 40 hours per week
Job Duties:
- Analyze clients’ capabilities and expectations related to life activities through observation, interviews, and formal assessments.
- Develop intervention programs to address clients’ needs related to self-care, work, and leisure activities.
- Maintain accurate client records.
- Establish personalized care plans as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Consult and advise on health promotion programs to prevent disabilities and maximize independent function in all life activities.
- Supervise support personnel and students, providing training as needed.
Qualifications:
- Certification by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and in good standing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to manage a diverse range of health issues in patients of all age groups.
- High standards of discipline, punctuality, courtesy, ethics, and compassion.
