Title: Coating Operator
Reports To: Coating Lead
Overall Responsibilities:
The Coating Operator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the tablet coating process, ensuring that all activities adhere to established guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Reporting directly to the Coating Lead, the Coating Operator plays a crucial role in meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe work environment. The position requires close collaboration with the Coating Lead and involves monitoring equipment, ensuring product consistency, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the workspace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor tablet coating machinery for efficient production.
- Follow detailed instructions and batch records to coat tablets as per specifications.
- Perform pre-production setup, including equipment cleaning, calibration, and material preparation.
- Collaborate with the Coating Lead to meet daily production schedules and targets.
- Assist in training new team members on safety protocols, equipment operation, and SOPs.
- Monitor and document product quality, ensuring adherence to all specifications and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, including batch packaging documentation.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized, adhering to housekeeping and sanitation standards.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the Coating Lead.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Engage in team meetings and provide feedback to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Coating Lead.
Qualifications and Behavioral Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a tablet coating or similar manufacturing environment.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of GMP and Health & Safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with the ability to report issues clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to work shifts, including potential evening or weekend hours.
